GBA Plus National Resource Guide

This GBA Plus Resource Guide is a national effort across all seven umbrella organizations that represent the immigrant and refugee sector in their respective provinces and regions. The project was led by the Alberta Association of Immigrant Serving Agencies (AAISA) in partnership with Affiliation of Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of BC (AMSSA), Saskatchewan Association of Immigrant Settlement and Integration Agencies (SAISIA), Manitoba Association of Newcomer Serving Organizations (MANSO), Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI), Atlantic Region Association of Immigrant Serving Agencies (ARAISA), and Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne (FCFA).

The GBA Plus National Guide Overview serves as a roadmap to the tools and resources developed during this project. It is designed to support Service Provider Organizations (SPOs) in the newcomer-serving sector in applying Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA Plus) principles to their policies, programs, and practices.
This is an overview document with executive summaries for each tool, outlining their purpose, intended audience, and the estimated time required to complete or review them.

Integrating GBA Plus into Organizational Practices

  • Provides templates and resources to assess organizational structures, policies, and staff diversity.
  • Divided into two subsections:
    • Internal GBA Plus Readiness: Evaluates workplace readiness to implement equity initiatives.
    • Equitable Data Collection and Management: Supports equitable data practices to ensure evidence-based decision-making.
