From April 2017 to March 2018, nearly 40,000 Permanent Residents arrived in Alberta, with the majority settling in Edmonton and Calgary. To meet the settlement and integration needs of these newcomers, the federal and provincial governments provided funding for numerous programs and services for the 2017/2018 fiscal year.
