AAISA’s ‘Enhancing Small Centre Collaboration’ project from March 2021, which brought together service providers from across the province’s smaller centres, highlighted the need for collaboration that aligns with the needs and desires of small centre organizations and is seen as valuable and essential to providing effective and transformative services for newcomers to thrive.

The report, conducted in partnership with BASSA Social Innovations, also differentiated the difference between this type of needs and asset driven collaboration as opposed to what was described as ‘contrived collaboration,’ or funder driven collaboration for the sake of collaboration itself.
