The National Settlement and Integration Council (NSIC)

OVERVIEW OF THE NATIONAL SETTLEMENT AND INTEGRATION COUNCIL (NSIC)

The National Settlement and Integration Council (NSIC) is comprised of delegates from across the nation’s settlement sector, provincial/territorial government officials, and the federal government who meet twice a year for collaboration, consultation, and knowledge building.

AAISA’s work with NSIC is an important avenue for provincial representation, advocacy on key topics, and knowledge mobilization.

In advance of NSIC meetings, AAISA briefs provincial delegates on priorities of the settlement and integration sector to ensure are able to speak holistically to the diverse needs and contexts across Alberta. Once the NSIC meetings are complete, AAISA then works collaboratively with provincial delegates to share learnings and action key priorities with AAISA’s membership.
