Certification
AAISA continues to offer Canada’s only certification program for qualified settlement practitioners.
Level 1 Certification
Level 1 Certification is designed for newly hired settlement staff planning to transition to the Settlement Practitioner role and staff looking for refreshers. Level 1 has no application deadline, as certificates are issued automatically upon completion of all five required courses. The five onboarding courses are offered on a rolling basis, allowing learners to complete all of them within six months at any time. We recommend applicants review the list of required AAISA Level 1 Onboarding Courses and our Level 1 Certification Guidelines.
Level 2 and 3 Certification
TO HELP STREAMLINE THE APPLICATION PROCESS, WE ARE DEVELOPING A NEW ONLINE APPLICATION SYSTEM, SET TO LAUNCH IN FALL 2025. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NEXT SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 27, 2026.
Settlement Practitioners who meet the specified requirements are eligible for Level 2 or Level 3. Please read our Guidelines for Certification. Additionally, we recommend applicants review our Portfolio Checklist for Level 2 and Portfolio Checklist for Level 3 to guide their application process.
Application
Download the AAISA Certification Application fill it out, and submit it before the deadline. All applications must be received on or before 5:00 PM MST on the date listed.

Please note that going forward, there will only be two (2) application submission cycles in each fiscal year.
Please note: AAISA recognizes training from several institutions for the purpose of Settlement Practitioner certification. Candidates with prior training fall into the Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR) category. Contact us with any suggestions or additions to the training list.
