AMSSA Research Connections (ARC) E-Portal

ARC is a searchable database of research on immigration and immigrant settlement issues. The aim of ARC is to disseminate research to frontline workers and policy-makers in the field of immigrant settlement—to help them meet the everyday challenges of planning, decision-making, program design and the preparation of funding submissions.
ARC provides summaries for each of its featured research papers, enabling users to quickly gain the information they need, as well as the option to download the full research papers. The flexible search function allows users to browse by theme, by a combination of themes, and/or by using a specific keyword. ARC also features an innovative glossary of terms specific to the fields of immigration and immigrant settlement, a multimedia page with presentations on current research, and links to numerous online resources.

Funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Integration-Net is a communications, information and research tool to support the work of the Canadian settlement community. It also provides a means to develop both a national and international exchange of information and ideas about best practices on integration strategies and programs in order to share and learn from the experience of others. The Centre for International Migration and Settlement Studies (formerly Research Resource Division for Refugees), Carleton University, hosts and manages the site.

The Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (CCVO) was established in 2004 to strengthen these individual organizations and the sector generally, by building capacity and addressing the larger systemic issues that can ultimately help or hinder their missions. To this end, CCVO works to provide leadership on issues broadly affecting the nonprofit/voluntary sector.
We work collaboratively, building connections with and within the sector. Prairie Metropolis Centre

The Prairie Metropolis Centre is one of five Canadian research centres involved in immigration and integration research. It was established in the spring of 1996 under a grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
The Prairie Metropolis Centre is a consortium representing six prairie universities including the University of Alberta; University of Calgary; University of Manitoba; University of Regina; University of Saskatchewan and the University of Winnipeg. The Centre is based at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, with research nodes at each of the other five universities.
